recogination 300gb hard drive

Window Vista will recognize my 300gb hd but I am not able to view it on the "Computer" (Formaly "My Computer") window. As well I have no access to the hard drive. My drive is a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 if anyone has the patch for this or the solution please help me out on this one.

Try looking at the drive using the Disk Management snap-in.

What is the "Disk Manegement snap-in" ? and Where can I get it?

I'm having the same problem as you.
What he means by the disk management snap-in is...right click on the computer icon or in your start menu and select manage. Then select Disk Management. I don't really see what this does, but thats what it is....
Interestingly my external hard drive was not listed there, however it was listed as a piece of hard ware like yours.

What does Disk Management say about it?

In the "Device Properties" menu it says that "The device is working properly." But it still dosen't show up in My Computer.
